I’ll also say that I think our culture tends to focus on perfection as a goal, which is simply unatainable. If perfection is your goal, then you’re destined to fail. The result is attempting to maintain the illusion of perfection. So instead of learning and growing, the task becomes defending an immage.

It’s much more difficult to accept your faults than to pretend they don’t exist, but it’s also much more rewarding.
